The 349’s systems are designed to make life aboard safe, reliable, and worry-free. A robust electrical panel, shore power connection, inverter, and battery charger provide dependable power with outlets throughout the yacht. Hot and cold water is available at the galley, head, and cockpit shower, supported by a dedicated water heater and fresh water filtration. Fuel, water, and holding tanks are efficiently placed below the cabin sole for stability and space-saving, while reinforced fiberglass and aluminum construction ensures long-term durability. Safety is built-in with UL®-listed seacocks, high-capacity bilge pumps, and a remote bilge alarm at the helm. Pre-wiring for windlass, bow thruster, fans, and speakers adds flexibility for upgrades, making the 349’s engineering and plumbing systems as practical as they are reliable.

The Island Packet 349 is equipped with robust systems designed for safety, convenience, and long-term reliability at sea. Deluxe electrical panels include separate battery switches, gauges, and breakers for AC and DC systems, as well as indicator lights and controls for pumps, battery charging, and the LPG solenoid. Power needs are supported by a 30-amp dockside AC system with ground fault protection, a Mastervolt 100-amp battery charger, a 2500-watt inverter, and a 50-foot shore power cord. Numerous GFCI-protected outlets are positioned throughout the yacht for convenience. At the helm, the engine instrument panel includes a tachometer, hour meter, and monitoring system, backed by a DC grounding and bonding system that protects the rig and all underwater metals.
Plumbing systems are engineered for both performance and comfort. A pressure water system delivers hot and cold service to the galley, head, and cockpit shower, supplied by a UL®-listed six-gallon water heater with engine heat exchanger and insulated hot water hoses. The galley is enhanced with a dedicated SeaGull® IV water filter, while the head features a dedicated sink/shower drain sump with strainer. Below deck, fuel, water, and holding tanks are positioned beneath the cabin sole for improved storage and weight distribution. The welded, baffled aluminum fuel tank includes a shutoff valve and deck fill, while the fiberglass-infused fresh water and holding tanks are baffle-reinforced and equipped with electronic remote gauges.
Safety is reinforced with heavy-duty equipment, including a Rule® 3700 bilge pump with WaterWitch® electronic switch, a BilgeAlert® high water alarm with remote panel at the helm, UL®-listed bronze seacocks, and ball valves at all through-hulls. LED navigation lights, pre-wiring for an anchor windlass and bow thruster, as well as runs for fans, speakers, and VHF, round out a comprehensive electrical and plumbing system designed to support extended cruising with ease and confidence.
