The 349’s cockpit offers ergonomic seating, generous storage, and precise helm control with premium Edson steering and a Ritchie® compass. Wide coamings, dual deep lockers, and four harness padeyes enhance safety and convenience underway. A hinged fiberglass table and transom shower add comfort for relaxing or entertaining aboard. Instruments and engine controls are thoughtfully positioned for easy access, with provisions for autopilot and additional electronics. Sliding companionway hatch, varnished sapele drop boards, and integrated dodger mount combine style with functionality, making the cockpit a central hub for both sailing performance and leisurely enjoyment.

The cockpit of the Island Packet 349 is designed for comfort, safety, and confident handling. Full-length ergonomically shaped seats with dual deep lockers provide ample seating and storage, while a cushioned helm backrest ensures support on long passages. Wide coamings with storage bins, four harness padeyes, and dual 2” scuppers emphasize security and practicality, complemented by a hot-and-cold transom shower for convenience after swimming or sailing. At the helm, the Edson CD-i® geared direct drive steering system with stainless steel wheel, single-lever engine control with Glendinning® cables, and a Ritchie® compass with custom Island Packet nav grid deliver precision and reliability. A hinged fiberglass cockpit table, provisions for electronic installations and autopilot, and a covered engine panel keep essential controls close at hand. For navigation, Raymarine® (or equivalent) knot, depth, and wind instruments are mounted in the seahood pod, while the companionway features a sliding hatch with seahood, varnished solid sapele drop boards, and an etched logo center board with a fixed port. An integrally molded dodger mount on the cabin top further enhances customization and protection, creating a cockpit equally suited for bluewater passages and relaxing afternoons at anchor.

Wide, two-tone surfaces in light ivory with tan premium diamond-pattern slip-resistant areas provide both style and secure footing. The one-piece deck is fastened to the hull with a robust integral flange using bolts, lock nuts, and urethane adhesive sealant, while hardware is reinforced with aluminum backing plates where required for strength and reliability. At the stern, an integral swim platform with molded steps and an emergency boarding ladder with pull strap ensures convenient water access and safety at sea. Forward, the wide bow platform features Island Packet’s exclusive and patented SeaSafe® anchor roller, designed for fully captive, low-chafe chain and rode control, allowing for quick anchor deployment and secure storage. Ample room for an optional electric windlass completes the design, blending practicality with the confidence of Island Packet’s proven innovation.
