The 42 Motor Sailer is engineered with a one-piece integral hull and keel, hand-laminated using high-modulus knitted fiberglass and infused via a proprietary pressure-fed system for maximum strength and durability. The hull is finished in a light ivory gelcoat with a urethane-painted boot stripe and matching rubrail, delivering a refined yet rugged profile. Below the waterline, a fully encapsulated lead ballast forms a double-bottom keel, eliminating keel bolts and providing superior structural integrity, safety, and low maintenance.

Deck surfaces feature a two-tone design with premium diamond-pattern slip-resistant texture for sure footing. The deck is securely bonded and mechanically fastened to the integral hull flange using bolts, lock nuts, and urethane adhesive sealant, with aluminum backing plates reinforcing hardware where needed. Chainplates are interlocked and bonded directly to the hull structure, offering the brand’s signature “belt-and-suspenders” security. Inside, a molded structural grid system integrates with bulkheads and the hull for a strong, unified platform, topped with a textured molded fiberglass headliner for a clean, durable finish.

Sailing performance is optimized with a standard sloop rig (optional Solent rig available), a Selden anodized aluminum mast and booms, and wire rigging. The in-mast roller furling mainsail and roller furling jib are crafted in high-modulus Dacron® with white UV-protective sun panels for long-lasting durability. The signature Hoyt® self-vanging jib boom improves sail shape, simplifies handling, and enhances performance across a wide range of conditions.

For serious cruisers, sail control is centralized at the aft cockpit console, where lines are routed below deck for a clean, uncluttered appearance. A Lewmar® Ocean Series 40CEST electric winch, multiple sheet stoppers, and line bins make trimming efficient and safe. Main and spare halyards lead to a Lewmar® Ocean Series 40 CST 2-speed winch on the mast, with the jib halyard led to a Lewmar® 16C 2-speed mast winch. Aft-boom sheeting to the cabin top keeps the cockpit open and allows for convenient dinghy storage on the hardtop.
