Comfort and Confidence in Cruising
The Motor Sailer allows you to keep the elements outside and the power to control your sails inside. The salon and galley are located together on the deck level. The starboard helm has a side door for easy access to the deck. The salon opens to the aft deck with a window/door combination that creates the indoor/outdoor living, combining your living spaces according to your preferences.
Island Packet continues with the Solent-style rig, featuring a mainsail with a working jib and an optional lightweight 170% Reacher or asymmetrical that mounts on the integral bow platform. The in-mast furling is equipped standard with the Selden Synchronized Main System, with the outhaul leading to the winch inside the cabin next to the helm station. The jib sheet/outhaul leads to the cabin as well. The working jib is fitted with a foredeck mounted jib track that is self-tending and improves performance with its close sheeting and self-vanging feature, while the large optional Reacher or asymmetrical Genoa boost performance in light air or when off the wind. All sheets lead to the cockpit primary winches at the helm for short-handed convenience.

An ample staircase leads from the helm to the lower living area which holds a large owner’s stateroom with an Island berth and large ensuite head. The guest stateroom has a double berth and a spot for an optional washer/dryer. Additional configurations are available on the port side.
There is a large engine room with access from salon sole or under stairs to lower living area. And she is well-powered with the Yanmar 110 HP diesel engine.

The 42 Motor Sailer features a one-piece deck securely bonded and mechanically fastened to the integral hull flange with bolts, lock nuts, and urethane adhesive sealant. Hardware is reinforced with aluminum backing plates for maximum reliability. Chainplates are interlocked and bonded directly to the hull structure for Island Packet’s signature “belt-and-suspenders” security.
A molded structural interior grid system integrates with the bulkheads and hull to form a unified structure, delivering exceptional rigidity and quiet performance under sail or power. The deck surfaces are finished in a two-tone, light ivory and tan premium diamond-pattern slip-resistant texture for excellent footing and a refined look. A molded fiberglass headliner with a textured finish completes the interior overheads with a durable, easy-to-maintain surface.

The hull is a one-piece integral structure, hand-laminated with high-modulus knitted fiberglass using a proprietary pressure-fed infusion system for superior strength and weight control. A light ivory gelcoat finish with a urethane-painted boot stripe and matching rubrail gives the yacht a timeless, elegant appearance.
Below the waterline, the fully encapsulated lead ballast forms a double-bottom keel, eliminating the need for keel bolts and offering unmatched structural integrity, safety, and peace of mind. This design reduces maintenance, prevents leaks, and provides a stable, confidence-inspiring ride in a variety of sea conditions.

Take Command with a modern Interior Helm.
The Motor Sailer’s interior helm is designed as both a command center and a comfortable gathering place. A starboard-side helm door provides easy deck access, while a large transom door opens to the integrated swim platform, complete with swim and emergency boarding ladders.
The deep helm aft of the deckhouse offers security offshore, with molded seat lockers to port and starboard, a removable bench seat across the transom, and wide steps leading to the side decks. An extended hardtop with a sail-viewing window provides shelter while still allowing excellent visibility. Gasketed sole hatches open to generous storage, while overhead lighting and a thoughtful console layout keep sail control and engine functions close at hand.

Step into the 42 Motor Sailer and experience a warm, inviting interior crafted from premium Sapele hardwoods and veneers, with louvered doors, cedar-lined lockers, and dovetail-constructed drawers. Every surface is finished with a furniture-quality satin gloss varnish applied in multiple coats, highlighting the wood’s rich grain and depth. The raised main salon is surrounded by large windows, creating a bright and open atmosphere that blends seamlessly with the natural surroundings.
a secure & efficient Galley
The 42 Motor Sailer’s starboard galley offers premium Corian® counters, a Force 10® three-burner propane stove and oven, and a Vitrofrigo® drawer-style refrigerator/freezer. A dedicated water filter faucet, secure storage, and slip-resistant sole make meal prep safe and efficient underway.
Engineered for reliability and quiet performance
The 42 Motor Sailer features a pressure water system with hot/cold service throughout, a six-gallon water heater with engine heat exchanger, and 130 gallons of fresh water capacity. Fuel is stored in three baffled aluminum tanks totaling 325 gallons, pre-plumbed for optional generator or heater systems.
Engine access is excellent via the salon sole and companionway steps, with sound-deadening insulation for a quiet ride. Power is supplied by four premium AGM batteries with a deluxe AC/DC electrical panel and 30-amp shore power system with GFCI protection.
A 50-gallon fiberglass holding tank, Rule® 3700 bilge pump with electronic switch, and BilgeAlert® high-water alarm provide safety and cruising convenience. All navigation lights are LED, and the yacht is pre-wired for windlass, bow thruster, and future upgrades.
